What a vibrant person you were. You lit up a room with such a voice that anyone who knew you ,knew Mrs. Rice was in the house . You made my Polk days fun. Thanks for always listening to me. You" ll be tremendously missed. Besides looking over your family I know you'll be looking over Polk as well...

From time to time on my way to work a song would get in my spirit. When I got there, I would forgo my coffee that morning. I would stop by Geraldine Rice office. I would say, "Rice, I got a song I want to hear." She would get up from her computer and say, "Hendawg what song is it this morning?" Well, Friday, May 5, 2017 the last song I played for her was God's Goodness by Willie Banks. Rice if I only knew Friday was my last time seeing, laughing and talking with you I would not have done a thing at work but sat in your office all day and talked and laugh with you. I am going to miss our morning meetings. Love ya! Rest on!

Sorry to hear of Geraldine's passing. I was classmates/friends with her and her sister, Tina. I have fond memories of them both. I've been reading all the lovely messages and they're all the same. They speak of her beautiful personality and barrels of laughs she gave everyone around her. She has always been that way and heaven has truly gained an angel. Condolences to the family and again, sorry for your loss. RIP Geraldine. You will truly be missed!!!

Ms. Rice was a bright spot for all of us at Polk. She shared smiles, fun and joy. When she was not near, we could tell she was coming from far away. Since her office was near the Chapel, I had to sometimes request, "Ms Rice, use your inside voice." She was compassionate towards inmates and could defuse a young man ready to explode. No one can replace her. She loved us and we loved her. To the Rice Family: Thank you for sharing Geraldine with us. To Geraldine: Happy day in Heaven! Now I know Blue Devils can go there.

I was saddened to hear of my coworkers passing on Monday morning. Ms. Rice was kind, loving, and always had a smile. She never walked past you without speaking, and you definitely wasnt going to walk past her and not speak. Her postive attitude and love for others will be missed. Take your wings and fly.
