Obituary of Geraldine Harrison Rice

On the morning of Monday, May 8, 2017, God called our loved one Geraldine Harrison Rice to eternal rest. Geraldine, the daughter of John Earl and Mary Louise Harrison was born on April 30, 1965 in Hackensack, New Jersey. Geraldine received her education in the Warren County Schools Systems in Warrenton, North Carolina and continued her education by becoming a Bronco at Fayetteville State University where she majored in business administration.

Geraldine worked for almost fifteen years for Polk Correctional Institute where she held a host of different positions over the years such as correction officer (for which she was awarded correctional officer of the year in 2014), mail room personnel, and diagnostics technician.

Geraldine was a vibrant woman who enjoyed life and valued family and friends; she was no stranger to anyone who was in her presence, she loved to laugh and always had a smile on her face.

Geraldine leaves to her loving memory, her husband Robert Rice; children Sebastian Harrison Sr. (Evonne Royston), Juandrell Rice ( Brandaline), Shakita Williams; grandchildren, Sebria Harrison, Sebastian Harrison Jr., Shakayla Robinson, Sanyia Williams, Janazra Farris and Jazahria Rice; siblings; Ashala Harrison and John Earl Harrison Jr; Nephew, Anthony Temple; Godfather, Garfield Taborn; and in-laws, Norma Taylor, Nelson Rice, and Vincent Rice.

Geraldine also leaves behind two special individuals with whom she carried a special bond and created cherishable memories over time; her Uncle, Roy Green and Aunt, Juanita Alston.

Geraldine was pre-deceased by her mother, Mary Louise Harrison and father, John Earl Harrison Sr.; Grandparents, Catherine Jefferies Green, Roy Green Sr, Isaac Harrison Sr. Gatha Harrison; sister, Tina Lynette Coleman, and Grandson, Sherrod Williams
