Mack Harris

Mack Lindsay Harris,  son of the late John and Alma Burton Harris was born on January 22, 1955 in Warren County, North Carolina. He departed this life on March 28, 2017 in Greenville, North Carolina

He accepted Christ at an early age while living with his grandmother, the late Jannie F. Burton, and became a member of New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. He remained a devoted member until his death. He often visited other community churches especially for the musical programs.

Mack had an extensive work history that included:  Police Officer (Norlina Police Department), Karts Van Driver and Machine Operator at Peck Manufacturing Company, and Farming.

He was wed in holy matrimony to Marion E. Mayo on March 1, 1975. This union yielded a family.

He leaves to cherish his memory, one son: Reverend Shelton Harris of Durham NC; three grandsons: Christopher D. Harris of Norlina NC, Nathaniel T. Brown and Joshua A. Brown of Durham NC; three sisters: Arlene Harrington of Wise NC, Bettie Cooke (Robert) of Henderson NC, and Deloyce Terry of Henderson NC; one brother: John D. Harris of Greensboro NC; three aunts: Mattie Taylor of Greensboro NC , Annie Blanks of Barberton OH, and  Lizzie Burton of Baltimore MD; one uncle: Freddie Burton( Katherine) of Henderson NC; his Mother-in-law: Bertha B. Mayo of Norlina NC; three  Brothers-in-law: Alfonso Bullock (Lucy) of Henderson NC,  Frank Mayo (Cassandra) of Manson NC, and James C. Mayo of Norlina NC; eight nephews: Quincy ( Le Shaun) , Steven Harris, Antonius Cooke, Robert Cooke, Jr., Steven Gouse, Sherman Bullock, Frankie Mayo and  Emanuel Mayo; eight nieces: Takisha Cooke, Tamara Reed, Tosha (Omeka) Bullock, Tricia Reed, Tamatha Perry ( Carter), Rhonda Bullock, Letita Alston and Raquel Bullock; two godchildren: Michael and Jordan; and a host of cousins, extended family and friends.
