Jessie Mae (Ivory) Terry

Mrs. Jessie Mae Terry, 87, daughter of the late Rufus and Virginia Ivory Terry, was born July 6, 1930 in Warren County, North Carolina.  She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 18, 2017 at Warren Hills Nursing Facility in Warrenton, North Carolina.

She was married to the late Louis Edward Terry, Jr. for forty-two years.  To this union, two children were born, and one adopted son.

Jessie accepted Christ and joined the Ashley Grove Baptist Church, (later renamed the Greater Ashley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Vaughan, NC), where she remained a faithful, loyal, devoted, dedicated and loving member until her death.

The Funeral Service will be conducted Saturday, September 23, 2017 from the Greater Ashley Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Vaughan, NC.  Pastor Milton Jones will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

She leaves to cherish her memory is her adopted son: Patrick (Jerri) of Blackridge, VA; two daughters: Joyce Carter and Alice Howard, both of Littleton, NC; seven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; her brother: Eddie Howard of Baltimore, MD; two sisters-in-law (one whom was very special to her) Elizabeth Brown of Macon, NC; four brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Mrs. Terry may be viewed today in the R. H. Greene Funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
