You have recorded every one in your book.” Psalm 56:8 Mrs. Edith Mae Williams Boyd, 70, daughter of the late Clarence Plummer and Queen Ester Williams, was born on June 22, 1947 in Warren County, North Carolina. She departed this life July 6, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina. Edith was educated in the Warren County public school system. She was a faithful member of Jerusalem United Church of Christ until she became ill from injuries from an accident, and was unable to continue to attend church. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 15, 2017 from the Jerusalem United Church of Church, Palmer Springs, VA, at 1:00 PM. The Pastor, the Reverend Otha Wimbush will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of fifty-two years: James Edward Boyd of the home; her daughter: Shannon Renee’ Boyd of the home; her son: Melvin Williams (Stacy) of Manson, NC; her grandchildren: Keon Williams of Elkton, Maryland, and Dor-Neshia Williams of Warrenton, NC; her sisters: Helen Williams of Baltimore, MD, Alice Hicks of Warrenton, NC, Joann Hodge (Eddie) of District Heights, MD, and Katherine Davis (Dwein) of Baltimore, MD; her brothers: Clarence Pete Williams (Loretta), and John Mack Williams, both of Wise, NC, and Kenny Williams of Norlina, NC; her aunt: Cleo Williams of Baltimore, MD; her uncles: Frank E. Davis and John A. Davis, both of Warrenton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Boyd may be viewed Friday in the R. H. Greene funeral Home Chapel from 11:00 AM until 7:00 PM, and at the church one hour prior to the service.
