Tishie T. Hendricks

Mrs. TISHIE HAVANA TALLEY HENDRICKS to her eternal home on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 while residing in the Warren Hills Nursing Center in Warrenton, North Carolina.  Tishie was born August 29, 1930 in Wise, North Carolina to the parentage of the late Nick and Ida Talley.

Tishie received her education in the Warren County Schools, graduating from the Warren County Training School.   

Being reared in a Christian home, she accepted Christ at an early age and remained faithful to the Lord until death.  She was a member of the Locust Grove Baptist Church where she served faithfully as a missionary and member of the choir until her health began to decline.  

In her adult years, she was united in marriage to the late Novel Hendricks.  God blessed this union with five children.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She was dedicated to her community and nurtured many children in her neighborhood.  

Funeral Services will be conducted at 2pm on Sunday, January 7, 2018 from the Locust Grove Missionary Baptist Church of Warrenton, NC. Rev Kenneth Alexander, Pastor, will officiate and burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by:  her oldest son, Albert Hendrick; her youngest daughter, Debra Hendrick; one granddaughter, Tonya Hendrick; eight siblings, Clara Brown, Alston Talley, Martha Jackson, Wilbert Talley, Florence Montague, Sarah Scott, Virginia  Atkinson and William Talley.

Those left to  cherish her memories of love, laughter and strength are:  her three children, Norvel Hendrick (Patricia) of  Macon, North Carolina,  Simm Hendrick (Melody) of Lusby, Maryland and Hazel Hendrick of Baltimore, Maryland; one grandson raised as her own, Jeffrey Hendrick of Norlina, North Carolina along with thirty four grandchildren; forty great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
