Willie "Pete" Johnson

There's a bright side somewhere, don't you rest until you find it, there's a bright side somewhere.  With care and compassion, R. H. Greene Funeral is standing with the relatives of Mr. Willie "Pete" Johnson, age 76 of Wise, North Carolina.  Mr. Johnson transitioned on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at the Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 12:00 noon in the sanctuary of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wise, North Carolina.  The Reverend Dr. K. Lamonte Williams, Pastor, assisting, Reverend Ebony Talley Brame will officiate, Reverend Charlie Twitty, Jr., will deliver the eulogy and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  his wife, Mahalie Montague Johnson of the home; two sons, Gerald Johnson and daughter-in-law, Wanda, whom he loved dearly and Chad Johnson, all of Wise, North Carolina; two granddaughters, Tiffany and Jakada, whom he loved dearly; one sister, Nellie Sturgis (George) of Wilmington, Delaware; one brother, Freeman Johnson (Delois) of Wise, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Theresa Coleman and Patricia Seward, both of Wilmington, Delaware; two brothers-in-law, Nick Alonzo Montague of Wilmington, Delaware and Charles Lewis Montague (Brenda) of Wise, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family members and friends.

Mr. Johnson will lie in repose on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 283 Carrie Dunn Road, Norlina, North Carolina.
