Wanda Marie Burton

This is my story, this is my song, praising my Savior all the day long.  With care and compassion, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is standing with the relatives of Ms. Wanda Marie Burton of Henderson, North Carolina.  Ms. Burton transitioned on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Macon, North Carolina.  The Reverend Charles Faulcon, pastor will officiate and Reverend Wesley Taylor will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Macon, North Carolina.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  three children, Ryan Akins of Lemon Grove, California, Jarrell Akins and Whitley Akins, both of Henderson, North Carolina; four grandchildren, Ny'asia Akins, Ny'Shayla Akins, Yani Mason and Khorus Mason; her mother, Catherine Talley Burton of Henderson, North Carolina; one sister, Sheila Burton of Henderson, North Carolina; one brother, Jerome Burton of Durham, North Carolina; three aunts, Elnora Brown of Norlina, North Carolina, Virginia Boone of New York and Mattie Taylor of Greensboro, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Ms. Burton will lie in repose on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Catherine T. Burton, 49 McNair Drive, Henderson, North Carolina.
