Walter Burchette, Sr.

With solemn thoughts and tender hearts of love, R. H. Greene is offering comfort to the family of Mr. Walter Burchette, age 82 of Norlina, North Carolina.  Mr. Burchette transitioned on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at his residence in Norlina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home in Warrenton, North Carolina.  Elder Matthew Pettus will officiate and interment will follow in the Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Manson, North Carolina.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  five children, Sandra Burchette and Shirley Ball, both of Norlina, North Carolina, Valarie Burchette and Michael Burchette (Johnetta), both of Richmond, Virginia and Debbie Pettis (Matthew) of Shelby, North Carolina; one granddaughter raised as his own, Veronica Burchette along with ten grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Norland Burchette (Pollie) of Richmond, Virginia; three sisters, Ruby Champ of Manson, North Carolina, Marie Alexander of Boydton, Virginia and Evelyn Jiggetts of Oine, North Carolina; one daughter in law, Regina Burchette; eight sisters in law, Loretta Burchette, Gladys Harris, Gloria Campbell, Lillie Bullock, Angie Bullock, Jeanette Bullock, Alfreda Bullock and Vernita Williamson; one devoted brother-in-law, Albert Bullock along with two brothers in law, Milton Bullock and John Bullock; a devoted nephew, Lonnie Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Burchette will lie in repose in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The family will receive visitors at the home located at 201 N. Rose Street Apt. 1D in Norlina, North Carolina.
