Viola Carroll Alston

Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say, It Is Well, It is Well With My Soul.  With loving arms of compassion, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering sympathy to the loved ones of Warren County retired educator of 40 years, Mrs. Viola Carroll Alston, age 100 of Warren County, North Carolina.  Mrs. Alston entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. on the grounds of the Oak Level United Church of Christ in Manson, North Carolina.  The Reverend John E. Jefferson will officiate,  the Reverend Cheryl Bell Hyman and Bishop Brenda Gail Peace will assist.  Interment will follow in the Sunset Gardens in Henderson, North Carolina.

Left to reflect and cherish a life of memories are:  one son, Frederick D. Alston, Jr., of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one daughter in law, Carolyn Alston Daniels of Greensboro, North Carolina; five grandchildren, Frederick D. Alston, III., Tona Alston, Jr (Shamedra), Angela Alston, Christina Wake (Gregory) and Kelly Alston; eight great-grandchildren, Zhonay Organ, Chrisheana Organ, Malik Alston, Jacqueline Mardenborough, Brian Chancey Crute, Nasir Crute, Gregory Wake and Laila Wake; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mrs. Alston will lie in repose on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The family will be present to greet friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
