Viola Turner Ellis

Precious Lord, take my hand. Lead me on, let me stand.  With compassion, R. H. Greene is offering comfort to the loved ones of Mrs. Viola Turner Ellis, age 89 of Macon, North Carolina.  Mrs. Ellis transitioned on Wednesday, January 15, 2025 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Macon, North Carolina.  The Reverend Malvin Hargrove, Pastor will officiate and interment will following the Ellis Family Cemetery in Macon, North Carolina.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  six children, Walter Turner (Ernestine), Barbara Alston (Jasper), Bernard Ellis (Jill) all of Macon, North Carolina, Glenda Hawkins (Donnell) of Warrenton, North Carolina, Sylvia Campbell (George) of Macon, North Carolina and Peter Ellis (Quentella) of Kerville, Texas; twenty grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; one sister, Louise T. Miniggia of Littleton, North Carolina; one uncle, Alvin Boyd of Manson, North Carolina; two sisters-in-law, Mary Turner and Mildred E. Washington, both of Macon, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Nathaniel Ellis of Macon, North Carolina; five special friends, Elizabeth Brown, Mary Gie Kearney, Jerome Brown, Sharon Dunston and Laura Davis; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mrs. Ellis will lie in repose on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 2027 Highway 158-East, Macon, North Carolina.
