Thomas "Koon" George

With heavy hearts and solemn emotions the loved ones of Mr. Thomas “Koon” George, age 77 of 604 Paschall Station Road in Wise, North Carolina are preparing to say so long to a link in their family chain.  Mr. George departed this life on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the Roanoke Chapel Christian Church Cemetery in Palmer Springs, Virginia.  The Reverend Curtis McRae, Pastor will officiate.

Those left to reflect and remember his life are:  his wife, Gaylaverne C. George of the home; six children, Jimmy Ragin (Beverly) of Concord, North Carolina, Georgetta LaFayette (Joseph) of Waldorf, Maryland, Phyllis Gager of Harlem, New York, Otis Ragin and Wednesday Boutee, both of Warrenton, North Carolina and Eon George-Jefferson of Virginia Beach, Virginia; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Hazel Falcon (John) and Evert Russell, both of Macon, North Carolina, Adlean Davis (Thomas) and Carolyn Williams both of Warrenton, North Carolina and Eleanor Bullock of Wise, North Carolina; five brothers, Eddie Lee Howard, Jr., of Warrenton, North Carolina, David Howard of Riverdale, Maryland, Daniel Howard (Jennie) of Kinston, North Carolina, Alvin Howard (Helen) of Landover, Maryland and Melvin Howard (Mary) of Gaithersburg, Maryland; one uncle, Clarence Howard of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; one great-great-great aunt, Margaret Tubbs of Franklin, Virginia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. George will lie in repose in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home on Sunday, August 30, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Family and friends may live stream the service on the R. H. Greene Funeral Home facebook page at 1:00 p.m.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home located at 604 Paschall Station Road in Wise, North Carolina.
