Thomas "Big Nasty" Hargrove, Sr.

H. Greene Funeral Home is offering sympathy to the loved ones of Mr. Thomas "Big Nasty" Hargrove, age 82 of Warrenton, North Carolina.  Mr. Hargrove transitioned on Thursday, February 2, 2023 at the Franklin Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Louisburg, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Snow Hill Missionary Baptist Church.  The Reverend Ogletra P. Cooper will officiate and the Reverend Mary Jane Hargrove will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Baptist Church Cemetery.

He is survived by:  two sons, Thomas Richard Hargrove (Anita), Jr., of Spartanburg, South Carolina and Franklin Hargrove (Mary Jane) of Warrenton, North Carolina; one step-daughter, Josephine Davis of Warrenton, North Carolina; five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one step-granddaughter, two step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hargrove and Ida Hargrove, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; one brother, Willie Calvin Hargrove of Warrenton, North Carolina; special adopted family, Iris Rose Frazier, Carol, Beth, Robin, Ashby and Heath; four sisters-in-law, Laura Mae Davis, Shirley Steed (James), Elaine Sledge (Clarence) and Mattie Barnes (Walter), all of Warrenton, North Carolina; five brothers-in-law, Willie “Bo” Alston, Ronald Tunstall and Lawrence McKenzie, all of Warrenton, North Carolina, Calvin Davis (Jackie) of Henderson, North Carolina and Andrew Davis (Sharon) of Washington, D.C.; special friends, Martha Williams of Warrenton, North Carolina, Linnell Millam of Baltimore, Maryland and Alvin Harriston of Queens, New York; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mr. Hargrove will lie in repose at R. H. Greene Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Franklin Hargrove, 499 Paschall Station Road, Warrenton, North Carolina.
