Sadie Lee Townes Green was born September 28, 1925 in Warren
County, North Carolina to the late Jurrell Townes and Lucy Stewart
Townes. On December 28, 2019, God dispatched angels to her
earthly home at 837 Church Hill Road in Macon, North Carolina
and transitioned her to her heavenly home.
Sadie confessed Christ early in life, was baptized and joined the New
Bethel Baptist Church. She was a long standing and faithful
member who served dutifully until her health began to decline.
Sadie was educated in the Warren County School Systems.
Sadie was united ion Holy Matrimony to the late James Daniel
Green and to this union eleven children were born.
Sade was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother,
and Great-Great Grandmother who was respected by all of them.
She was loved by her church and community – many referred to her
as Mother or Grandma. A true missionary and servant of God, she
will always be remembered for her friendly and warm hospitality.
Everyone was welcomed in her home, and was fed if hungry while
their because she was always willing to share.
Sadie’s curtain has closed, but everlasting memories will always
remain in the hearts of: six sons, Ervin Green (Eula), Calvin Green
(Patsy), Jurrell Green (Ann), Kenneth Green (Barbara) Walter
