There’s a dream that I dream of my Heavenly home, may be morning, night or noon, I don’t know just how soon, but I’m sending up my timber everyday. R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering compassion and comfort to the loved ones of Mr. Roy Carter, Jr., age 34 of Norlina, North Carolina.  Mr. Carter transitioned on Saturday, December 3, 2022 at the Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Warrenton, North Carolina.  The Reverend Ebony Talley Brame will officiate and The Reverend Dr. Lamonte Williams, Pastor will deliver the eulogy.  Interment with Masonic Rites will be in the church cemetery.

Everlasting memories of his smile, personality, and spirit will always be in the hearts of:  his grandfather, Deacon James Wesley Carter, Sr. of Norlina, North Carolina; his parents, Deacon Roy, Sr. and Deaconess Catherine L. Carter of Norlina, North Carolina; a special love, Tiaira Southerland and their son, Quincy Moore of Norlina, North Carolina; his Godparents, Thelma Carter and Herbert Watkins, both of Norlina, North Carolina; two cousins whom he called his sisters, Clarissa Banks and Nicky Banks, both of Soul City, North Carolina; his uncles, Reverend James Wesley Carter, Jr. (Alean) of Long Island, New York, Robert Carter (LaGretta) of Wise, North Carolina, Derrick Carter (Mary) of Warrenton, North Carolina and Erick Carter (Jamilla) of Waldorf, Maryland; his aunts, Mildred Hendricks of Drewry, North Carolina, Thelma Carter (Herbert) of Norlina, North Carolina, Yolanda Carter of Waldorf, Maryland, Jackie Lassiter of Newport News, Virginia, Rosa Allen (Ernest) of Henderson, North Carolina, Helen Haskins (Charles), Mary Hunt, Alice Thorne (Johnny), Doretha Joyner (Larry), all of Boydton, Virginia and Barbara Banks of Soul City, North Carolina; his great aunt, Roxie Burton of Warrenton, North Carolina; his two best friends, Carl Moss, Jr. of Wise, North Carolina and Reale “Wolf” Satterfield of Oxford, North Carolina; a host of cousins, co-workers, relatives and friends.

Mr. Carter will lie in repose on Friday, December 9, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at his parents home, 715  Manson Axtell Road, Norlina, North Carolina.
