Plummer Russell

“The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”   Psalm 18:2

Mr. Plummer Russell, 93, was born on September 18, 1923 to the late Noble Russell Jr. and Irene Russell in Manson, NC. He transition from this life on February 8, 2017 at The Vitas Hospice at Methodist Hospital in Philadelphia, PA.

At an early age, Plummer was baptized, and joined the Russell Union RZUA Church.

He was inducted into the US ARMY Air Corp, where he served during WWII. Following World War II, Plummer worked with the construction of the dam on the Roanoke River.

During this time he met and married the former Ada Alexander.  To this Union two Children were born, Leon and Shirley.

Plummer was an all-around renaissance man and had a love for all music, especially Jazz Music, and he loved watching old movies. 

Those left to love and cherish his memory, are: his Daughter, Shirley; and his son: Leon; his sisters: Nora Mae, and Bella Russell; one brother: Cooper Russell; and numerous other relatives and friends.
