Patrick Banks

Patrick Banks, son of the late Simon and Daisy Banks, was born on December 18, 1927 in Mecklenburg, Virginia.  He gained his wings on January 28, 2018 at Warren Hills Nursing Facility in Warrenton, North Carolina.

He received his education in the Mecklenburg County Public School System.

Early in his life, Patrick was baptized, and joined the Roanoke Chapel Church in Palmer Springs, Virginia.

In 1949, “Trick” was joined in holy matrimony to the late Eva Evans.  They were married for sixty-one years.  Five children were born to this union.

“Trick,” as he was affectionately known, was a self-taught small engine mechanic, and was employed by Warrenton Supply Company of Warrenton, North Carolina, where he was employed for forty years.

He was well known in the Community as the “lawn mower man,” and will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife: Eva; one daughter: Rebecca Louise; one great grandchild: Clyde Bracey, Jr.; ten siblings: George, Sr., Bernard, Sr., Samuel, Sr., Charlie, Simon, Lucy, , Laura, Jennie, and Annie Zine.

Left to cherish his memory are, four children: Polly Ann Gill (Andrew) of Palmer Springs, CA, Patrick Banks, III (Yvonne) of Norlina, NC, Rosa Talley of Wise, NC, and Kimberly Banks of Macon, NC; four grandchildren that he raised as his own: Andrew Gill, Jr. of Wise, NC, Renee; Haskins (Shelton) of Coola Beach FL, Scholar Jefferson, III, and Briana Jefferson of Littleton, NC; two special grandsons: Frank Talley, Jr. (Vanessa) of Gaffney, SC, and Glenn Alexander (Christine) of Wood Neff, SC; two brothers: Reuben Banks (Sheila) of Palmer Springs, VA, and Kenzie Banks (Marie) of Charlotte, NC; fourteen grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; twenty-five great-great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law: Horace Evans of Henderson, NC, and Charles Evans (Priscilla) of Richmond, VA; one sister-in-law: Bernice Hicks (Silas) of Drewry, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends.
