What a solemn day it is to announce that God’s role model of a woman has crossed the swelling tide. Mrs. Nannie Allen Jones, age 96 of Warrenton, North Carolina and stood on the banks of Jordan, Saturday, February 29, 2020 at her residence and boarded the ship of Zion.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Manson Baptist Church in Manson, North Carolina. The Reverend Dr. Tony Clark, Pastor will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by: four children, Shirley M. Richmond (Donald) of Baltimore, Maryland, Annie Laura Harper (Verge) of Glen Burnie, Maryland, Jacqueline Yancey (Charles) of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Robert M. “Junie” Jones, Jr. of the home; seven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Eleanor Epps (Robert) of Columbia, South Carolina; one brother, Jarvis Allen, II. of Spartanburg, South Carolina; one sister-in-law, Barbara Mae Allen of Ridgeway, North Carolina; a special niece, Sheila Brown Correa of Ridgeway, North Carolina; two special nephews, D. Jemar Brown of Fort Washington, Maryland and Alvis “Cootnie” Allen of Ridgeway, North Carolina; two special life-long friends, Elizabeth Watson and Irene Terry, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; a circle of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Mrs. Jones will lie in repose on Friday, March 6, 2020 in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 1686 Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. Boulevard, Warrenton, North Carolina 27589.
