Mr. Williams transitioned on Sunday, June 2, 2024 in the comfort of his home.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Fork Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in the Inez Community, Warrenton, North Carolina. The Reverend Emory Jones will officiate, the Reverend Lennis Thorpe will deliver the eulogy and interment will follow in the Fork Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by: his loving wife, Gwendolyn W. Williams; three children, Monica Williams, Malcolm Williams and Montellus “Boone” Williams; one grandson who was his pride and joy, Taaj “Dink” Burwell; one sister, Esther W. Hunt (Donald); four uncles whom he considered his brothers, Byrnes Alston (Lori), Melvin Robinson, Jr. (Theresa), Alexander Robinson (Sheila), Thurston Robinson (Charlotte); aunts and uncles, Glenn Alston (Jackie), Sarah Alston, Josephine Williams, Rosa Lee Williams, Alma Young (Telia), Sylvia Alston, Rosa A. Robinson, Catherine Williams, Selma Alston, Shirley Tuck (Curley), Cecile Johnson, Cecil Williams (Janet) and Samuel Alston, Jr.; his father-in-love, Leonard Williams; two brothers-in-love, Leonard “Tony” Williams (Niesha) and Dominique Williams (Shalette); aunts and uncles-in-love, Freda Alston, Audrey Ferrell (Wilbert), Sequence Davis (Donald), Joyce Faye Williams, Oneida Williams, Elizabeth Richardson, Virginia Preston, Carolyn B. Williams and Jimmie Sidberry; one nephew which he held a close bond, Donald “D.J.” Hunt; two cousins whom he considered his brothers, Christopher Alston and Tywayne Williams; special cousins, Evontio Williams, Veronica Williams, Felicia Alston Richardson and Samuel Alston; special friends, Ronald “Moot” Hymon, Timothy Jones, Matthew Williams, Sean Bridgers, Chris Privett, Alzee Alston, Collin Bullock, Walter “Pee-Wee” Lyons, Tyrone Simes and Charles Williams, Jr.; nieces and nephews, Kiyana, Noelyn, Iniya, D’monta, Nielyn, Leonard, Leslie, Carmen, Najah, Aiyanah, Noah and Anish; a host of cousins, classmates, co-workers and friends.
Mr. Williams will lie in repose on Friday, June 7, 2024 in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, located at 112 Queen Avenue, Warrenton, North Carolina.
