Mary Lou "Sis" Hargrove McKenzie

Sit down servant, sit down servant, sit down and rest a little while.  R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering love and service to the relatives of Mrs. Mary Lou "Sis" Hargrove McKenzie, age 87 of Wise, North Carolina.  Mrs. McKenzie transitioned on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at her residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home in Warrenton, North Carolina.  The Reverend William Cozart will officiate and the Reverend Mary Jane Hargrove will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church-Soul City Cemetery.

Memories will forever be cherished by:  her husband, Lawrence McKenzie of the home; two daughters, Yvonne Augustin of the home and Peggy Hargrove of Baltimore, Maryland; three sons, Clarence Hargrove (Rosie) of Wise, North Carolina, Bruce Hargrove of Soul City, North Carolina and Allen "Shine" Hargrove (Laura) of Louisburg, North Carolina; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Margaret Hargrove and Ida Hargrove, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; two brothers, Thomas Hargrove and Willie Hargrove, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; a son-in-law, Lynell Miliam of Baltimore, Maryland; a very dear and special friend/sister, Rosa Jones of Soul City, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mrs. McKenzie will lie in repose on Friday, January 26, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 p.m. at R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, located at 133 Railroad Lane, Warrenton, North Carolina.
