Leonard Emerson Davis

So I’ll cling to the old rugged cross and exchange it someday for a crown.  R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering comfort and compassion to the loved ones of Mr. Leonard E. Davis, age 83 of 108 Sylvester Davis Drive in Warrenton, North Carolina. Mr. Davis transitioned on Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, December 11, 2021 at 12:00 noon from the Union Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Henderson, North Carolina.  Reverend Stephon Goode, Pastor will officiate, Reverend Spencer Davis will deliver the eulogy.  Interment will follow in the Edwards Grove Cemetery in Warrenton, North Carolina.

He is survived by:  his loving wife of sixty-four years, Frances B. Davis of the home; one son, Leonard Davis, Jr. of Warrenton, North Carolina; one daughter, Katina E. Weldon and son-in-law, Kasson Weldon of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren, Tyler C. Davis of Connecticut, Caleb J. Weldon, Jeremiah Weldon and Josiah Weldon, all of Virginia; one godson, Carlton Perry; three brothers, Gerald Davis of Texas, Reverend Spencer L. Davis (Corinthian) of Henderson, North Carolina Calvin Davis (Mary) of Warrenton, North Carolina; two sisters, Cora Newkirk (Jim) of Henderson, North Carolina and Carolyn Davis Jones of Warrenton, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Shirley Davis and Laura Mae Davis, both of Warrenton, North Carolina and Cloretta Jones Collins of Maryland; one brother-in-law, Clovis Jones of Maryland; a special niece, LaWanda Anderson; a close friend, Wayne; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mr. Davis will lie in repose at R. H. Greene Funeral Home on Friday, December 10, 2021 from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m.
