Lawrence "Pop" McKenzie

Though the clouds may hang over, there will be a brighter day, in that land they called Heaven, God shall wipe all tears away.  With care and understanding, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is standing with the relatives of Mr. Lawrence "Pop" McKenzie, age 89 of 133 Railroad Lane, Warrenton, North Carolina.  Mr. McKenzie transitioned on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at his residence. 

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.  Reverend Mary J. Hargrove will officiate and interment will follow in the First Baptist Church-Soul City Cemetery in Norlina, North Carolina.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  two daughters, Yvonne Augustin of the home and Peggy Hargrove of Baltimore, Maryland; three sons, Clarence Hargrove (Rosie) of Wise, North Carolina, Bruce Hargrove, Sr. of Norlina, North Carolina and Allen “Shine” Hargrove (Laura) of Louisburg, North Carolina; ten grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; one son-in-law, Lynell Miliam of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Hargrove and Ida Hargrove, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Willie Hargrove of Norlina, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mr. McKenzie will lie in repose on Friday, September 15, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. at R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, located 133 Railroad Lane, Warrenton, North Carolina.
