James T. Gardner

When I get home, the saints will be singing, joy bells be ringing, when I get home.  With care and sympathy, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is standing with the relatives and friends of Mr. James T. Gardner, age 86 of Warrenton, North Carolina.  Mr. Gardner transitioned on Monday, February 3, 2025 at his residence.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of St. Stephen Missionary Baptist Church in the Inez Community, Warrenton, North Carolina.  The Reverend Douglas Joyner will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished:  his daughter, Kim Banks of South Ozone Park, New York; five nieces whom he adopted as daughters, Fredina Alston of Queens, New York, Cassandra Drayton (Kevin) of Saratoga Springs, New York, Annie Alston of Queens, New York, Jackqulyn Alston Bridgers (Shawn) of Warrenton, North Carolina and Regina Alston of Queens, New York; two goddaughters, Ella Hargrove and Kyla Hughes; one brother, Gibbs Gardner (Mildred) of Columbus, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Freda Alston and Rose Alston both of Warrenton, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, William P. Alston, Jr. of Warrenton, North Carolina; two aunts, Letha Brown and Geraldine Alston, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Mr. Gardner will lie in repose in R. H. Greene Funeral Chapel on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.  The family will be present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 118 Marshall Street, Warrenton, North Carolina.
