This is my story, this is my song, praising my savior all the day long. With hearts of compassion, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is standing with the relatives of Mr. James "Bro" Greene, age 90 of the Wise Community. Mr. Greene transitioned on Sunday, June 15, 2025 at his home.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Wise, North Carolina. The Reverend Dr. Lamonte Williams will officiate and Dr. Tony W. Cozart will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in the Cooks Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Warren Plains Community, Warrenton, North Carolina.
Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by: his wife, Shirlie Montague Greene of the home; five children, Diane Greene Brown of Wise, North Carolina, Cynthia Greene of Richmond, Virginia, James Greene, III. (Tracy) of Manhattan, New York and Lonnie Greene (Shari) and Brenda Montague, both of Wise, North Carolina; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Sallie Howell and Maggie Delores Greene, both of Wise, North Carolina and Barbara Deans (Alfred) of Nashville, North Carolina; six sisters-in-law, Rosetta Palmer (Burroughs) of Clover, Virginia, Rita Wright (Jacob) of Richmond, Virginia, Connie Montague of Wise, North Carolina, Dr. Carol Montague-Davis (Garrett) of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Linda Montague of Bronx, New York and Gloria Montague of Richmond, Virginia; two brothers-in-law, Theodore Montague of Wise, North Carolina and Harold Montague (Altena) of Henderson, North Carolina; two special family friends, Leroy Walker and Ronald Walker; a plethora of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Mr. Greene will lie in repose on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at R. H. Greene Funeral Home.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 1140 Cole Farm Road, Warrenton, North Carolina.
