Obituary
What a friend we have in Jesus, what a privilege it is to carry, everything to God in prayer. With sympathy, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering comfort to the loved ones of Mrs. Hortense Hawkins Long, age 92 of Warrenton, North Carolina. Mrs. Long transitioned on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Franklin Oaks Nursing Center in Louisburg, North Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Coley Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Warrenton, North Carolina. Pastor Carson F. Jones, Jr. will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Everlasting memories will be forever cherished by: two sons, Charles Kersey, Jr. and Herman Long, Jr., both of Warrenton, North Carolina; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; one brother, Jimmie Baskett (Paulie) of Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania; one daughter-in-law, Yvonne Kersey of Henderson, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Myrtle D. Hawkins of Norlina, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Long will lie in repose on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. in the R. H. Greene Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home of Herman Long, Jr., 251 Sulphur Springs Road, Warrenton, North Carolina.
