Mr. Brown transitioned on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at his residence.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Saturday, June 17, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. in the Warren County Middle School Gymnasium. The Reverend Ebony Talley Brame will officiate and Reverend Clinton Boyd will deliver the eulogy. Interment will follow in Sunset Gardens in Henderson, North Carolina.
Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by: his wife, Zenobia Hopkins Brown of the home; four children, Adrian Brown of Warrenton, North Carolina, Marque Hopkins of Henderson, North Carolina, Megan Hopkins and Myia Brown, both of Warrenton, North Carolina; three grandchildren, London Brown, Chaise Hopkins-Little and Caylen Hopkins; his best friend whom he considered his brother, Donnell "DT" Thomas of St. Petersburg, Florida; two aunts, Carolyn Herndon of Spring Hope, North Carolina and Lola Brown of Warrenton, North Carolina; an uncle, Harold Herndon of Spring Hope, North Carolina; a son-in-love, Shante Little of Charlotte, North Carolina; four sisters-in-law, Carol Evans (Kelvin), Brenda Diane Baxter (Mario), Faye Wharton all of Macon, North Carolina and Patricia Bennett (Tayshon) of Rocky Mount, North Carolina; a brother-in-law, Alphonso Hopkins (Novella) of Macon, North Carolina; special friends, Morton Jones, John Bullock, Reggie Green, Clarence Green, Clarence Jones, Paul Hardy, Ponce Moody and Therman Moody; his first cousins, Thurletta M. Brown-Gavins of Warrenton, North Carolina, Rosalyn H. Coach Brown will lie in repose on Saturday, June 17, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. in the Warren County Middle School Gymnasium. The service will be livestreamed on the R.H. Greene Funeral Home facebook page.
The family will receive visitors and friends at the home, 136 Ridgeway-Warrenton Road, Warrenton, North Carolina.
