When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot, thou has taught me to say, It Is Well With My Soul. Mr. Fred G. Harris age 91 of 183 Red Hill Loop Road in Warrenton, North Carolina peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at the Durham Regional Hospital in Durham, North Carolina.
Those left to cherish precious and fond memories are: eight children, Hazel H. Copeland of Warrenton, North Carolina, Nina H. Davis (James) of Leesburg, Virginia, Larry E. Harris (Venicia) of Warrenton, North Carolina, Charles Harris (Willie Mae) of Warrenton, North Carolina, Lytonia H. Coleman (Charles) of Creedmoor, North Carolina, Anita Crelan (Barry) of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Paula L. Harris of Warrenton, North Carolina and Karen White (Angelo) of Raleigh, North Carolina; twenty-three grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchildren; two daughters-in-law, Mahalia Harris of Warrenton, North Carolina and Sarah Harris of Raleigh, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Ethel Green of Warrenton, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, his was preceded in death by wife of 57 years, Mary Guy Williams Harris and two sons, Fred Gale Harris, Jr. and Ronnie Lee Harris.
A private graveside for immediate family will be held on Friday, April 24, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the Greenwood Baptist Church Cemetery in Warrenton, North Carolina with the Reverend Eddie W. Lawrence, Pastor, officiating.
Mr. Harris will lie in repose on Thursday, April 23, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.
A public celebration of life will be held at a later date.
