Greene Funeral Home is offering care to the family and friends of Mrs. Elizabeth "Gracie" Hawkins Pettaway, age 82 of Manson, North Carolina. Mrs. Pettaway transitioned on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at the Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, North Carolina.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Thursday, June 11, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Oak Level United Church of Christ in Manson, North Carolina. The Reverend Dr. Douglas Wooten, Pastor will officiate and interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by: one son, Michael Pettaway (Lisa) of Chesterfield, Virginia; one daughter/niece, Audrey Bullock of Durham, North Carolina; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Spruill Pettaway of Manson, North Carolina; one son-in-law, Calvin Jones of Richmond, Virginia; four grandchildren, Damian Pettaway, Talisa Pettaway, Shakilvin Pettaway and Maia Pettaway; one great-grandson, Bryson Pettaway; one godson, Frantwon Dortch; one sister, Patsy Chase of Manson, North Carolina; one brother, Albert Hawkins, Jr, of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; special friends, Deloris Paschall, Charles and Ellen Lynch, all of Manson, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
Mrs. Pettaway will lie in repose on Wednesday, June 10, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.
