Demps Pettway

I must tell Jesus all of my trials, I cannot bear these burdens alone, He ever loves and cares for his own.  With compassion, R. H. Greene Funeral Home is offering comfort to the relatives of Mr. Demps Pettway, age 67 of Durham, North Carolina.  Mr. Pettway transitioned on Sunday, March 9, 2025 at his residence. 

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the sanctuary of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Macon, North Carolina.  The Reverend Zaida White will officiate and the Reverend Melvin Hargrove, Pastor will deliver the eulogy.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  his daughter, Porshia Pettway (Keith) of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; one brother, Moses Pettway (Valda) of Nashville, Tennessee; one sister, Valarie Forney (Nathaniel) of Rock Hill, South Carolina; his aunts and uncles, Ann Boyd Greene (Richard), Veronica J. Boyd, both of Macon, North Carolina, Stephen Boyd (Annie Mae) of Frederick, Maryland, James Boyd (Jessie) of Wake Forest, North Carolina, Mattie T. Boyd of Warrenton, North Carolina, Maxine Boyd of Laurinburg, North Carolina and Dorothy Boyd of Asheville, North Carolina; special close friends, Amanda Vincent and her son, Tyler Vincent of Durham, North Carolina and Dr. L. B. Henderson of Warrenton, North Carolina; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Pettway will lie in repose on Saturday, March 15, 2025 from 12:00 noon until 6:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will assemble in the funeral home parking lot on Sunday, March 16, 2025 at 12:30 p.m.
