Greene Funeral Home is standing with the relatives of Mr. Demetrius Wayne Giles, age 60 of Garner, North Carolina.  Mr. Giles transitioned on Monday, August 5, 2024 at the Johnston Healthcare Center in Smithfield, North Carolina.  

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  his wife, Dr. Cynthia Hicks-Giles of the home; three children, Chad Durell Giles of Greensboro, North Carolina, Elgin Wayne Giles (Katherine) of Raleigh, North Carolina and Velencia Mae-Elizabeth Giles of Garner, North Carolina; his mother, Mary Chavis Wiggins of Raleigh, North Carolina; his father, John O. Giles (Debbie) of Raleigh, North Carolina; two sisters, Dr. Tarsha Wiggins-Banister (Dr. Thomas Banister) of Jamestown, North Carolina and Crystal Freeman (Marcus Peppers) of Raleigh, North Carolina; his mother-in-law, Lula Mae Hicks of Garner, North Carolina; one sister-in-law, Beverly Hicks Scott of Stone Mountain, Georgia; four aunts, three nieces, one nephew; a host of cousins, co-workers, and brothers of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

At the request of Dr. Cynthia Hicks-Giles and family, the service will be private, and no sharing or re-posting of this funeral announcement.  For persons wishing to send flowers, it is requested that floral baskets or peace lilies are sent directly to R. H. Greene Funeral Home.
