Deacon Paul D. Kearney

Kearney, age 76 of Warrenton, North Carolina.  Deacon Kearney transitioned on Monday, May 25, 2026 at the Maria Parham Medical Center in Henderson, North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted on Monday, June 1, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Coley Springs Missionary Baptist Church in Warrenton, North Carolina.  The Reverend Carson F. Jones, Jr., Pastor, the Reverend Dr. Tony W. Cozart will officiate, the Reverend Craig Hymon will deliver the eulogy.  Interment with Military Honors will follow in the Church Cemetery.

Everlasting memories will forever be cherished by:  his wife, Dorothy M. Kearney of the home; four children, Paul D. Kearney, Jr., of Warrenton, North Carolina, Dr. Rhonda Kearney of Manson, North Carolina, Jackie Ann Boggs (Johnny) of Knightdale, North Carolina and Jocelyn Kearney-Thornton (Michael) of Raleigh, North Carolina; five grandsons, Isaac, Demetric, Ethan, Torrance and Christian; one brother, Emanuel Amos Kearney, Jr. of Carrboro, North Carolina; three cousins raised as his sister, Myrtle Davis Hawkins of Norlina, North Carolina, Laura Webb of Durham, North Carolina and Hattie Perry of Apex, North Carolina; one brother-in-law, Lenton M. Moye (Pamela) of LaGrange, North Carolina; three sisters-in-law, Julia M. Wooten (Murthis) of LaGrange, North Carolina, Dr. Janet M. Cornick of Columbia, Maryland and Mary C. Moye of Grifton, North Carolina; a plethora of nieces, nephews, cousins, colleagues, students and friends.

Deacon Kearney will lie in repose on Sunday, May 31, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of R. H. Greene Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at the home, 1512 US Highway 401 South, Warrenton, North Carolina.
