“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”  (II Timothy 4:7)

James Lee Miller, son of the late Miles and Ruth Miller was born May 12, 1930 in Warren County, North Carolina.  Peacefully on Monday, December 25, 2017, the angels were dispatched to the Warren Hills Nursing Center and summoned James to eternal rest.

At an early age, James accepted Christ into his life and joined the Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ.  He remained a member until his health began to decline.

James was employed with Nick Ulysses Construction in Richmond, Virginia for many years until retiring and relocating to North Carolina.

On February 3, 1950, James was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Annie Seward.  This union was blessed with eight children.

James was a very kind, caring and loving person.  He touched the lives of everyone he met, and was loved by all who were blessed to enter his presence.  He had a big heart, and a warm caring spirit.

He would always keep you laughing, even during his sickness when people visited.  He had many hobbies, but enjoyed farming, gardening, hunting, mechanic work, relaxing on his porch, listening to music and loving his cat, “Mann”.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 12 noon on Monday January 1, 2018 from the Burchette Chapel United Church of Christ of Manson NC. Rev Charlie Leath will officiate and burial will follow in the church Cemetery.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by:  two sons, David Miller and Walter Miller; one grandson, Walter Leon Miller; two sisters, Jessie        and Katherine; five brothers, Robert Miller, Miles Miller, Frances Miller, Grant Miller and Sylvester Miller.
