Elijah Rowlett, Jr. “Junnie”, son of the late Elijah, Sr. and Mattie Rowlett was born January 13, 1945 in Warren County North Carolina. He departed this life on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the VA Hospital in Durham, NC.
Early in life, Elijah attended the public schools in Richmond, VA and later he received his GED.
Elijah was blessed with two daughters who passionately nursed and cared for him during his illness.
Elijah had been a proud U.S. Army Veteran serving in Vietnam from 1965-1971 receiving the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge.
Elijah’s generous spirit and pleasant personality was loved by many making his life 05233full and beautiful. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him.
A private Ceremony of Honor will be held on Saturday, November 30, 2019 interment and Military Honors will be performed Tuesday, December 3, 2019Cherishing his memory are: two daughters Denae Mason, Jacquette’ Rowlett; two brothers William Henry Rowlett (Peggy) and James Rowlett; one sister Jean Rowlett-Strozier; one niece Wendy (Ron); three nephews Robby (Robin), Lamont (Tiauna), JR (Catherine), grandchildren/great grandchildren, Sharla’ (Jarien & Skylar) and Kelvin a.k.a (KJ); just like daughters Alice and LaToya and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins and friends.
There will be no public viewing.
